Auto-Import
InstaBudget support automatic import from your bank using Plaid. Currently this feature is only available for US and Canadian banks.
Introduction
InstaBudget uses Plaid to import transactions automatically from your bank.
You can link to a financial institution either when adding an account to your budget or at a later point.
When linking to a financial institution, you will be going through the Plaid linking flow.

Plaid is a well-trusted provider and is secure. They do not provide InstaBudget access to your login and password. They only give InstaBudget access to the list of transactions and balances for any account you have linked.
Select your bank

Enter your credentials for the bank. Again the login and password are sent to Plaid, which communicates with your bank.

Managing auto-imported transactions
By default, imported transactions will not be associated with any particular envelope. You will thus need to review imported transactions to associate them with the proper envelope.
You will see a notice similar to the one below with the number of transactions waiting for review in your budget heading.

Fret not! Thanks to the automated rules, transactions will quickly be imported with minimal input from you.
